How To Block Celebrite UFED FROM Your IPHONE (ios)

Ladies and gentlemen KayO.LA Presents How to Secure Your Iphone From the GLOBAL Police Version 0.2

1st off I’d like to thank the dev-team The EFF & All the positive peeps out there! Feed your Brain!

Jailbreak your iphone!!!!! Just do it & after your done change the Default root password via Mobile Terminal.. More info here * UPDATE 1 1. Open Cydia. Select Mange Tab and hit on Source2. Now click Edit and add the URL – yourcydiarepo.org and click Add source3. After adding the repo search for Mobile Terminal from Cydia and you can see the new version of Mobile Terminal 511-1 or 520 -1. Install it to make it work perfectly on iOS 4.2- 4.3.1

Next You wanna follow the instructions I posted on my Do Not Track Me post.

Now lets see what the Universal Forensic Extraction Device or "UFED" does to your iphone...

According to http://viaforensics.com/education/white-papers/iphone-forensics/cellebrite-ufed/  The acquisition of the 3G iPhone was simple and fast on UFED (with the exception of acquiring audio files). After powering the device on, I selected Extract Phone Data, Apple, iPhone 2G/3G, USB disk drive (destination), Content types (I pressed F2 to select all including Call Logs, Phonebook, SMS, Pictures, Videos and Audio/Music) and was then instructed to connect the iPhone to the source port with Connect cable 110 and the USB Disk Drive into the target port. After entering the pass code, the extraction began

So if you set a passcode youll be good.. but the trick is to turn on your passcode when you leave you house & turn it off before you sync it with your computer because they have a tool that can “bypass the passcode”

On http://www.cellebrite.com/images/stories/support%20files/Apple_iPhone_Passcode_Bypass_instructions.pdf

these instructions it say- “To create a USB passcode disable key, access to the user’s Mac or PC is necessary. Copy all .plist files in the following directory to the root directory of a newly formatted USB flash disk. Please note the .plist files MUST come from the computer which the specific iPhone is synced with, after the user code was enabled

So if for some reason you messed up & Synced your iphone while the passcode was enabled.. delete these files:

Windows 98/ME/2000/XP iTunes Users:  delete all the .plist files in the following directory:

Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Apple\Lockdown\

Windows Vista/7 iTunes Users: delete all the .plist files in the following directory:

Users\<User Name>\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\Lockdown\

Mac OS X iTunes Users: delete all the .plist files in the following directory:

VolumeName\Users\<User Name>\Library\Lockdown\

Theres Also a way to encrypt your iphone database using the Mobile Terminal but that’s another article for another day so stay tuned to KayO.LA (also on “Cellebrite.com” the company that makes the UFED 2.0  they claim “COMING VERY SOON! • The highly anticipated, comprehensive iPhone Physical solution” soo keep trucha yo! BTW all other phones on the market are completly fucked!! I'm Calling on you Jailbreak community & all you dev's out there to write some code or a package or a app to block UFED for good! - KayO.LA

Iphone Update 3.1.3 and thee (DEVTEAM REPOST)

3.1.3 and thee

WARNING! At 10.30AM PST on February 2nd 2010 Apple released the 3.1.3 version (7E18) of the iPhoneOS.

If you care about your jailbreak and unlock, don’t update your device - 3G and 3G(S) owners should pay particular attention to this warning.

  • PwnageTool and redsn0w are not yet compatible with 3.1.3
  • There is no estimated release time for compatible tools (please don’t bug us about this).
  • Any information we have regarding this update will be posted here.
  • You can also follow us on twitter - @iphone_dev

Update 1:  [Don’t go near this if you have 3GS, newer ipt2G, or any ipt3G] Thanks to daring experimenters in the comments, we can confirm that yesterday’s redsn0w works for today’s 3.1.3 update for iPhone 2G.  Just point it at the 3.1.2 iPhone 2G IPSW after doing update or restore to 3.1.3.  So far we’ve only confirmed this for iPhone 2G.  (Note that if this does work for iPhone 3G too, you can *only* use it if you don’t care about the unlock.)

Update 2: [Don’t go near this if you have 3GS, newer ipt2G, or any ipt3G] Can confirm that this method works for iPhone 3G and iPod touch 1G too.  Don’t do it for iPhone 3G if you need an unlock though (really, don’t!). For older iPod touch 2G, we’ll need a small (1-character) change in redsn0w source.

Update 3: [Don’t go near this if you have 3GS, newer ipt2G, or any ipt3G] For those with older (non-MC) iPod touch 2G, we’ve compiled a special version of redsn0w meant just for you: Mac and Windows.  You guys can get in on the “3.1.2 loophole” too using this special version.  Don’t try this if you have a newer iPod Touch 2G or if you’re not completely sure what version you have.  And of course don’t try it for 3GS or ipt3G either.

That about does it for the 3.1.2 redsn0w loophole.  It can only be used by: those who don’t need the 3G/3GS unlock, and only owners of iPhone 2G, iPhone 3G (not unlockers!), iPod 1G, and iPod 2G older version.  Everyone else please wait for official support in the tools.
