We did it!
I've got some exciting news for you: We just reached our ambitious $42,000 online fundraising goal -- with over four hours to spare! This has truly been a grassroots effort. Hundreds of supporters set up personal fundraising pages, which helped bring in over a thousand individual donations to the campaign. Thanks to friends like you, we're showing the press, the pundits, and the skeptics that we're ready to seize this historic opportunity to end cannabis prohibition in California. But it's not midnight yet -- and with your last-minute support, we can really blaze right through our goal. Will you help? Help us keep the April 20 momentum going with a contribution of $5 or more before midnight! Thanks so much for your help. With supporters like you, I couldn't be more excited about our chances of winning in November.*****Tax Cannabis 2010. Sponsored by S.K. Today and Tomorrow
When someone in California searches Google for "4/20" tomorrow, we want them to learn about how our campaign will create tens of thousands of new, legal jobs here in California. When someone in California logs onto Facebook tomorrow, we want them to know that we have the opportunity in November to bring in billions of dollars in annual tax revenue to fund the priorities that matter most in our state. That's why money we earn online today will go toward purchasing advertisements on Google and Facebook tomorrow to increase awareness about the Control & Tax Cannabis Campaign. And of course, every dollar contributed today will also go toward our $42,000 fundraising goal. Please contribute $5 or more today -- help us spread the word through online ads and reach our $42,000 goal! Tomorrow may not be the most serious of "holidays," but reforming our cannabis laws couldn't be more serious, so we need to take all the attention people pay to cannabis tomorrow and steer it toward our important campaign to end cannabis prohibition in California. Please make a generous contribution right now -- your contribution will go toward online ads that will help get the word out tomorrow! Be sure to forward this message to five of your friends -- make sure they know about our plans for today and tomorrow! Thank you so much for your support.*****Tax Cannabis 2010. Sponsored by S.K. We're so close...
Dear Ricky,I wanted to send you a quick update about the progress of the ballot initiative. So far, 55 of 58 counties have counted their signatures and turned them into the Secretary of State's office. Over 75% of the signatures we've collected have been valid -- meaning we're far above the threshold to qualify for the November 2 ballot! Wednesday, March 24 is the last day the remaining three counties can turn their signatures into the Secretary of State's office -- meaning we fully anticipate being officially on the ballot sometime next week! Then, it's on! Our campaign won't be easy -- and it certainly won't be cheap. We need resources to hire organizers, get our ads on the radio and TV, and educate voters about our campaign. Can you help today? Click here to make an immediate secure contribution: Chip in $10 or more, right now, to make sure we're prepared to win on November 2! I will continue to keep you posted on the initiative's progress. Thanks so much for your support.
Sincerely, Richard Lee

Begin forwarded message:
Dear Ricky, I have exciting news to share with you today. Last month, we turned in 700,000 signatures, far exceeding the 433,971 required to qualify the initiative for November's statewide ballot. Counties have begun to count the signatures, and in order to get on the ballot, only 63% of our signatures need to be approved. Well, right now, on average, 76.73% of our signatures are being approved each day. We expect to be certified for the November ballot in March -- putting us closer than ever to legalizing, taxing, and regulating cannabis in California. Now that it's clear that the Tax & Regulate Cannabis 2010 initiative will be on the November 2010 statewide ballot, we need your support. Can you contribute $5 or more today? We're embarking on a comprehensive campaign to show California voters why laws criminalizing cannabis have failed and that we must legalize, tax, and regulate cannabis in California this year. That's why I'm writing for your support today. Please contribute $5 or more today. Thank you so much for your support.
